About

Hello!Snapshot_20130113
My name is Samantha, and I am The Red Lady:)
First, I feel as though the name deserves at least a slight explanation
For no reason in particular, I had the urge to dye parts of my hair red at the age of 16. Red has also always been one of my favorite colors since childhood..particularly when paired with any shade of pink.

As I grew into a few more years of life, the red hair grew on me as far as LOVING it, and the color red has also grown on me as far as ALSO LOVING it, Snapshot_20130113_6like everywhere. Except now, I pSnapshot_20130113_5refer it with silver/black/dark electric blue. Best combo ever.

But, I digress…

The red hair began to take a strangely important role in my life. It has become a sort of statement. Like a tattoo. Certainly not my identity, but I have definitely been identified by it, almost daily, by…well, everyone. Including co-workers, fellow students, professors,

church leaders..you name it. But most importantly to the storyline…it became an identifying factor to children everytime I either volunteered or went out to babysit. To the point where my official nickname among many of them (by their own accord) was The Red Girl. To my family, this also took hold. And now, I am The Red Lady. And I do love it.

Here are a few other things I love…
I love to enjoy the beauty of what Christ has done, and I am fascinated by what He has yet to do…
I love writing of all sorts…
I love the imagination…
I love music…
I particularly love the book of Revelations…
I love C.S. Lewis…
I love Emily Dickinson…
I love health, especially natural healing…
I love having an Italian heritage…
I love new people…
I love being with my “old” people…
I love learning…
I love new things and places…
I love being adventurous in the kitchen…
I love tea…
And I really, really love cocoa in any form and in anything you can put it in (which, as you will see, is very many places and is a frequent ingredient in my kitchen adventures!)
Although somewhat already implied, here is a list of three things I would place in the category of very important things:
1.) Christ Jesus is the Lord and Savior of all who believe in Him for their salvation.
2.) If you told me to choose the two things i would list as the most basic necessities, i would indefinitely reply that they are Christ and cocoa…
3.) I am grateful for your visit today and hope you may find something useful here… whether it be a new idea for the kitchen, happy health revelation, poem to enlighten your idea, new song to play a thousand more times on YouTube, or even just a smile:)

The idea for blogging originally came to me as a very strong suggestion by my dad, as a way to organize recipes while having fun with some other writing activity and such, and it began at another site (redroseintherain.blogspot.com).

It has kind of exploded though…and now we are here:)

And here is a very crazy time of life… College, New Church, More Friends, Deeper into Natural Health… And now I want to share it all with you!

And so! That is all. Really I am not expecting many claim this as such a wonderful website as the myriads of epic blogs and sites and things out there, but if you find even one thing of interest, and were made happier by it, that would make me a happy person as well.

Ciao for now!!
